This year’s mentoring sessions are designed specifically for professionals in the DHH field in Nebraska, focusing on signing across various book genres. Each session will center on a different genre, from fiction and nonfiction to poetry, graphic novels, biographies, and more. Through guided book reviews and interactive discussions, participants will explore the unique linguistic and cultural features of each genre and identify effective strategies to sign them clearly and appropriately for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This series offers a valuable opportunity for professionals to strengthen their genre-specific signing skills, build confidence, and enhance classroom access and literacy experiences for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
