Game and Craft Night

Students in Kindergarten through 7th grade are invited to a night of bracelet making, games, food, and connecting with peers and role models.

Time: 6:30-8:00 pm

CHALK IT UP!

Students will have the opportunity to visit Nebraska’s very own chalk mine and complete create an art project in chalk.

Date: March 27, 2026

Time: 10:00 am to 2:30 pm (plus travel time)

Location: Scotia and St. Paul, Nebraska

Grades: Kindergarten through 5th Grade

Communication Contest for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals (CCDHH)

Students have the opportunity to win a $2500 college scholarship by presenting a speech about this year’s theme “The Moment I Realized I Belonged- My Definition of Community”.

Date: March 28, 2026

Time: 10:00 am

Location: ESU 9, Hastings

Grades: 10-12

A Walk in Wonderland

Students in grades 3rd-12th are invited to an enchanted evening of dancing and games and wonderful activities on Saturday!

Date: April 10-11, 2026

Time: 5:00 pm on Friday to 1:00 pm on Saturday

Location: Leadership Center, Aurora

Grades: 3-12+

Spring Into Reading

The Southeast Regional Program is excited to be partnering with Nebraska Hands and Voices and Guide By Your Side Program for an upcoming activity.  This will be an afternoon for families of reading and signing stories, crafts, snacks and celebrating being together.  

  • Who: Children who are Deaf or hard of hearing who reside in Nebraska and their immediate families (students must attend with an adult)
  • Date: Sunday April 12, 2026
  • Time: 3:00 – 5:00 PM
  • Location: Bess Dodson Walt Library (6701 S 14th Street, Lincoln)
  • Registration: Registration is required by April 1, 2026 and can be completed online here.

Deep Roots, Strong Branches: The Power of Connection

Families with children birth to high school completion who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and receiving early intervention or special education services are invited to this year’s Family Camp.  

Date: April 24-26, 2026

Location: Covenant Cedars, Hordville, NE

Registration: Registration will open February 17, 2026 and can be completed here.

Camp Anderson

Students in grades 5-12 are invited to attend our annual Camp Anderson experience this summer. 

Date: July 12-17, 2026

Location: Camp Comeca; Cozad, NE

Eligibility Requirements: Students must be on an IEP, be in good academic and behavioral standing and must be actively involved with the Nebraska Regional Programs including previously attending overnight activities

Registration: Registration must be completed here by April 19, 2026. 

SERP PEN PALS FLYER

Would you like to connect with a Nebraska peer who is also Deaf or hard of hearing?  SERP would love to match you up with a friend to correspond with through our pen pal program!  This is a great opportunity to meet and connect with new friends.  In the future, you may also get the opportunity to meet your pen pal in person at one of our SERP or statewide activities!
